The F"R said that the 1 hour of Chassidus that we learn a day has to effect the entire 24 hours of our day, that anyone who sees one of us should know that i am a yid that studies chassidus.
I think this is such an important thing to constantly keep in mind. That means, when we look in the mirror in the morning, we need to think "do i look liek a yid who learns chassidus". When we walk (talking too loud c''v!) in the street, we need to think "do I look like a yid who learns Chassidus". When we shop or eat in manhatten, boro park, or flatbush (& anywhere) , always keep in mind "do I look like a yid who learns Chassidus". When we're on grad trip, "do we look like yidden who learn chassidus" (laying on grass, singing loudly ...)
It's not just not to look bad...the ideas is to look special different etc...get teh difference?
Can't wait to be able to look at the whole crown heights and say "ah, these people learn Chassidus!!!" I think Moshiach better be here before then, but we could still start iwth ourselves with small little things!
Also - p.s. - when you learn something for yourself it means so much more than when you hear it from someone else even if that person who told it to you is a passionate person and that's why i loved this thing b/c i read it inside the rebbe's actual words - a/o agree or disagree? please comment, let's get the blog goin again!!! (or else Chani's whole thingy about this blog beign based on something & therefore still existing will be proven wrong c''v) :-)

You are right... about learning it yourself for sure, and more specifically when you make a point to apply it, which i personally find happens more often when i'm teaching it to someone else... somehow that brings out the passion a lot more.
and as far a looking like you learn chassidus, i think that's not only about tznius and stuff but even in things going out to eat ice cream letsay ..... you don't want to look like any other person that's all into the ice cream as if that's the greatest pleasure in life... remember, you're a chossid! you know what ice cream and tayvos really mean! let it show! (even if you're gonna eat it!!!!)
btw anyone know about the concept the rebbe said about now the time of the avodah of iskafya is over... anything along those lines?
