Story

The town of lubavitch had a few different types of people. There were the lubavitcher chassidim and the rebbe, the russian peasents, and then there were nice simple yidden. One simple yid, not a chossid, who owned an inn. his inn was always last to fill up, because it was on the outskirts of town.
One particular erev shavuos, the inn was empty and the yid had no parnasa, and the yid was very worried. He went strolling through the streets of lubavitch and decided to go to the rebbe maharash. he passed the rebbes house and saw the rebbe maharash standing on the second floor balcony. he told the Rebbe maharash his dilema. The Rebbe looked up into the horizon and say, i see a large group of chassidim in the distance coming for shavuos, go prepare! but the chossid had no money to even invest, so the Rebbe gave him ten rubble to go to the market with. excitedly, he ran to prepare for 100 people!!
The yid and his wife are waiting as the hourse pass, for the chassdim to come. finally the next day, right before shkiah-going into shavuos, 300 chassidim show up at the inn! he was overjoyed!! the chassidim divided each of the sleeping space and food into 3, and enjoyed a beautiful yom tov at the rebbe. Each chossid payed in full and left.
The yid went back to the rebbe to thank Him and pay back the ten rubble. he then asked the rebbe- "How did you see the chassidim coming? they were far,and only came the next day"? the Rebbe responded: "When you are standing high, and the sun is shining- you can see far".
You can understand and take a lesson from the Rebbe Maharash's answer in many ways.
Lets hear!!

i luv that story. hearing it over and over again.
i'm gonna comment with the first lesson:
The Rebbe told us Higiya Zman Geulaschem (i wish i could write that in Hebrew.:))although, it seems like were still in Galus. Moshiach IS coming. the Rebbe stands way way higher than us, higher than we can evr imagine. and if the Rebbe sees it, it must be coming. Let's be ready!!!!!
prepare all the beds and the food and wtvr else is needed

;)
but i have a question:
so standing in a high place is like the rebbe being a high neshama... but what does it mean that the sun is shining?
anyone?

i think it means that things are clear for the rebbe, as clear as the sun. no kiddingx
