What Defines ME?????

i saw the comments (particularly shayna's) on the post that chani majeski put up about leaving our golus mindframe and i thought this piece of the article kinda fit what she was saying. - how we must leave our own self-made limitations in order to pull out of our personal golus.

adapted from ktoons on chabad.org

You see, the #1 booby-trap on the path to self-mastery is self-blame. As soon as you say, "Oy! I'm so bad for feeling that way!"—you've already sentenced yourself to eternal slavery. Why? Because you've identified yourself with those feelings. You've said, "That is who I am, that is how I feel." And you have to be who you are, right?
But if you say, "Oy, it's that burning fire/dumb animal/secretion of hormones happening again!"—so now you can choose to ignore/tame/master that fire/animal/limbic response system. After all, you are not the animal inside. You are a G-dly soul.

reason y i love this article and thought it was so appropo is b/c i always say k - this is who i am and this is what i do - take it or leave it. but when i really think about it - its not about ME and what I can or cant do. cuz we all come from the same place and so we all have the same source and major power to accomplish. i know i need to tell myself: GET OVER YOURSELF (or what u think is yourself but is rly just simply e/t that conceals what u really are - a part of Hashem) AND JUST DO WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU GOTTA DO.
